Work-Study Library Assistant
The Work-Study Library Assistant will assist the library staff with the Summer Reading Program for youth as well as help with other library-related duties.
The Work-Study Library Assistant will assist the library staff with the Summer Reading Program for youth as well as help with other library-related duties.
- Main duties: The Work Study Library Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the neighborhood librarian or children’s specialist to:
- Assist with summer literacy-related program activities;
- Read aloud 1:1 or with small groups of children;
- Prepare materials for simple arts & craft extension activities linked with literacy programming;
- Help individuals or small groups of children with reading or literacy skills;
- Assist librarian with other “library’ duties, as assigned by the librarian, which may include shelving.
- Approximate # of hours/week: Minimum of 5 hours/week
- Required days/times of the week: Monday-Friday afternoons
